An update on dad

Dad was transferred last Thursday to a Special Care facility that specializes in vent weaning and physical therapy.

He's seem better rested. I think mostly because all the unnecessary drugs are mostly out of his system now.

He doesn't pull any shennanigans (so far) at this place. I think the excessive drugs were wreaking havoc for him.

So is was a holiday weekend and they mostly started working with him this past Monday and he seems genuinely tired at the end of the day.

Another gentleman who was in the ICU at the previous hospital next to my dad's room was transferred to this hospital about 3 weeks ago and he was gravely ill. In fact, he only had a 10% chance of living because you see, he didn't have a scheduled surgery like dad, his mitral valve exploded in his chest, therefore affecting all his internal organs. His wife and daughter prepared funeral arrangements.

Last Saturday I had the pleasure of meeting Roberto and I couldn't stop crying because being able to talk to him and see him with no tubes or anything attached to him was incredible. He is now ready to go home!

He was the most enchanting fellow. I'd like dad to meet him soon, especially if he's in need of a pep talk.

Peace out. Love you all.

Sounds like he's in the right facility then. How are YOU dealing with all of this after all this time?
